I use the Jane App for scheduling appointments and videoconferencing.
The Jane App offers:
- Video consultations that are encrypted and the content of the video is never recorded or stored anywhere.
- Minimal personal information is required to use the system (only name and email address). The data is completely private between providers and their clients.
- Jane Data is encrypted using 256 bit encryption when sent between your device and our servers (in the same way as your banking information would be).
- Jane App complies with the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA), the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and all equivalent personal health information protection legislation in Canada.
- Jane App has two privately hosted data centres (both located in the Montreal area) via Amazon Web Services.
- Providers have the option to collect and process payments through the platform via PCI-compliant Stripe.
- All personal information is deleted when it is no longer necessary to deliver the service or immediately when a user closes their account.
- The technology is regularly audited by a third party to ensure privacy obligations are always being met.
*The client is responsible for securing their own computer hardware, internet access points, chat software, using email and passwords that are encrypted, secure and PHIPA compliant when possible.
