I have worked in a variety of educational settings from an Inuit Rehabilitation Centre in Nunavik to a Student Success Teacher to now a Vice-Principal in a local high school for Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB). I know the Education trenches well! One of my proudest accomplishments was winning an award in 2019 for Teaching Award of Excellence "for establishing a stimulating learning environment that motivates students to achieve positive results". This drive to motivate others for positive results also spills into my therapeutic practice with my clients; I believe that you can do anything you put your mind to (though you may need a bit of nudging from Mrs. Claus)
***Please note that due to conflict of interest, I am unable to work with students or staff from TLDSB.
I have never been one to sugarcoat things because I have learned in many ways how life is precious and every moment counts. Some may call me blunt; I would say genuine and real. Life is short; no need to keep punishing yourself so let's process and put it aside so we can live a fuller life (starting now!). And full-disclosure, I like to laugh so be prepared at times for a little laughter to lighten the mood. In the beginning, I like to start our time together exploring your strengths and values (Yes, you have them!).Times are hard (that's why you are scrolling me) so let's lighten your load and develop goals we can work towards. Like the chickens, we will get through your goals one by one. Our sessions may not always be fun, but I do hope you will find meaning. "Aha" moments are the best!
To help balance my "tower of hats" (mother of 3, wife, vice-principal, etc.) I enjoy spending time watching the honey bees pollinate my garden and I love to hatch chicks. I also like escaping to our family cottage whenever I get the chance because water can be so soothing; time just seems to slow down so I can catch my breath (the lake picture on my Home page is at my favourite summer getaway). Deep breath in, hold, now exhale.
